Another Zoo Trip

Thrity-five degree days are the best days to visit the zoo…if you can stand the cold weather.  Except for a handful of other crazies, we were the only ones there.  Not only that, but because of the cold temperatures, we were actually tempted to visit the indoor exhibits.  I can’t remember the last time we checked out the tropical bird house.  We usually walk right past it when leaving Cat Country.  Wouldn’t you know it, we found some pretty colorful birds in there.  This picture is probably my favorite from the entire day.  In fact, it might be one of my favorite pictures we’ve ever taken.

There weren’t many animals out, but the ones that were seemed to be pretty active.  Normally, we spend the most time with the cats and the monkeys.  Neither were out, so we turned our attention to the animals that we normally just walk by.  For instance, we spent more time than normal in the African exhibit.

And we hung out in Teton Trek rather than just making a quick lap around it.

We also took the time to stop and look at the things around the zoo other than the animals.  Below are the doors to the Panda exhibit and the old merry-go-round.
